Sleep Problems
Sleep Problems
Many individuals with ADHD/ADD, Autism, or related disorders also have problems with sleep. Sleep problems can be put into many different categories. Some include: settling problems, waking problems, social cueing problems, melatonin issues, sensory issues, allergies and food sensitivities, and hypersomnia – to name a few. However, getting to the root of sleep issue is important and can include the use of assessments and QEEG/neurofeedback data.
There are many ways to help solve the issue such as establishing a household routine, changes in food and drink, avoiding screens (T.V., smart phones, iPad’s etc.) up to 30 minutes before bedtime, reading before bed, relaxation techniques such as mindfulness training, and other natural remedies. At our clinic we take special care to help our clients address sleeping problems because our sleeping habits impact us in big ways during the day.
